Page 1 of 4 How do you cope with confrontation? Yell back? Do you run and hide? Dissolve in tears? Or….? As in all exchanges, reactions are very individual. Many factors play a part – personality and character (dependent on genetic makeup and background?); situation; people involved; individual levels of tolerance, frustration, patience, energy or exhaustion, health or ill health. For some, confrontation is daily and frequent, a first reaction and simply part of the pattern of their lives; with others a rare occurrence. Think of a confrontation in your own life. Think of your own reactions, both during and after the incident. How do you feel you coped?
